John William Crim

John William Crim, 81, of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away on November 12, 2023 at his home, where he was surrounded by his family. 

John was born on July 31, 1942 in Scottsburg, IN to John and Nellie (Louvell) Crim. 

On July 10, 1965 in Crown Point, IN, he married Virginia Nichols who preceded him in death on January 4, 2019.  Surviving are his 4 children, James (Kim) Crim of Lowell, Teresa (John) Parker of Lake Station, Mark (Michelle) Crim of Hebron, and Max (Mary)  Crim of Crown Point; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Nicholas, Jacob, Nathan, Renee, Ashton, Everett, Brooke, Hannah, and Olivia; 4 great-granchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings. 

He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.

John was a construction millwright.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and farming his property. 

He was a faithful man of God.  Every morning, John could be found drinking his coffee as he read his Bible.  He chose to have Bibles in various locations, including  his truck, so that he had access to read at any time.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. with Pastor John Stalions officiating.  Cremation will follow the service. 

A time of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the start of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
