Obituary
James Frederic Daly, 87, of Mill Creek, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.
James was born on January 26, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, to James Frederic and Virginia (Rose) Daly.
On August 11, 1990 in La Porte, he married Lucille Woodruff, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, James Daly of Hazlet, NJ, Susan Murphy of Mesa, AZ, and Michael Daly of Hardyston, NJ; stepchildren, Barbara Gaspar of Parker, CO, Joanne Price of Berkeley Heights, NJ, Emma Jean Downs of La Porte, Bonnie Hagenow of La Porte, Warren Eikelberg of Michigan City, Ruby Peterson of Elkhart, Donna Eichelberg of La Porte, and Donald Eichelberg of Knox; 34 grandchildren; over 50 great-grandchildren; many great, great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul Daly of Denton, MD and Clare Osmun of Bangor, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille Daly; stepson, Con Eichelberg; stepdaughter, Carol Smith; and beloved dog, Minnie.

James proudly served in the United States Air Force.
James was a research chemist. He was a member of the Elks, ASPE, Michiana Gem and Mineral Society and the New Carlisle Library.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Tim Williams officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center; 2855 West State Road 2; La Porte, IN 46350.
